RIVET MOBILE APP: RESEARCH + DESIGN

THE CHALLENGE

For my capstone project for BrainStation’s full-time UX program, I decided to tackle the clothing shopping experience for outlier customer segments.

This project afforded me the opportunity to explore how technology could offer more than standardized sizing and become more inclusive of marginalized body types. Given the global popularity of denim and premium pricing category, it felt like jeans were a logical clothing type for the MVP.

Meet rivet, a mobile app that delivers custom fit jeans using fast and intuitive 3D body scanning technology. Tall, short and plus size people have enough challenges in life, finding great fitting jeans shouldn’t be one of them.

THE APPROACH

Over a 10 week period, I researched, experience mapped, ideated, sketched, wireframed, prototyped and tested a high fidelity mobile app solution using human-centered design methodology. In addition to building a mobile app concept, I created branding, style guidelines and a responsive marketing website for rivet.
